I'm reading the correspondence between John Adams and his wife Abigail -
http://www.masshist.org/DIGITALADAMS/AEA/letter/
How wonderful it is to catch a glimpse into that relationship of so long ago, knowing that there have been many exquisite relationships, science, art, recipes, inventions, etc that just didn't make it into the collective human archives.
But now we publicly document our daily thoughts, inventions, recipes, relationships, science, and art in blogs. And we have instant access to an infinite archive of human creativity through the Internet. It's a tangible experience of the one mind - eternally now, impersonal and available to all without prejudice. The Internet is the great peacemaker with these beautiful expressions spinning on global servers like modern day Tibetan prayer wheels, cleansing world consciousness.
Never has it been a more delicious time to be a writer/creator revealing the relevance of original thought! We truly have evolved past the survival level, uplifting ourselves to pure creative self expression with a beautiful worldwide field to play in.
And for the audience, how delightful to find so many yummy flavors to enjoy in the one taste of life.
In the quiet silent seconds...
I know love, and only love, is the answer.
True love like mine is a hard love to get.
Come down in time...
I'll meet you halfway.

(this blog is prompted by my reading Plato's "Allegory of the Cave" .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegory_of_the_cave
thank you, RLO)
About 5 years ago, I accepted that there isn't an original thought nowadays. The first and last original thought was the one that started it all way back an infinite time ago.
Most people ignore original thought because they can't see how it applies to them at the time (like DaVinci's work when he was alive).
There's alot of recycling and reinventing going on. Now we're finding original thought again and again and feeling the relevance anew. In my own life, I find myself rereading a book I know I thoroughly read years ago and understanding it at a much deeper level than before, like it's a completely different book.
(twist with me here) That's why I think teachers should get paid more than anyone else. Teachers bring us to the place of connecting the dots for ourselves in our own "original" authentic way using the same old stuff presented freshly. And the teachers who teach folks how to read should get paid the most!

My brother installed the paper towel rack in my newly refinished kitchen today (INTENSE teal walls w/rich reddish dark wood cabinets- a beautiful Mexican Kitchen!). He and his wife are visiting from Manhattan- always a pleasure to be with my familia.
Tonight, my sister, her friend, my brother and wife, my daughter and I all trooped up to the Griffith Observatory after lovely meal at the Elephant Bar. In the rainy mist, it was like a scene out of the Crawling Eye. The architecture is to die for and once inside, the combo of the classic building design with the literally out-of-this-world science was stunning. The remodel is worth the wait.
I adore the Foucault Pendulum- when I was little I used to try to prove that if I jumped from high enough, the earth will have rotated just that smidge to move under my feet. I enjoy wrapping my skull around the expansiveness of experiencing the Big Bang, traveling through filaments of clusters of galaxies, and bringing into form the ultimate structure of the infinite universe. Makes me feel small and immense all at the same time.
Riding that last shuttle down from the Observatory, my heart ached with the meaning of life. While my mind is comfortable sitting with Einstein, it is my open heart that rules the universe. In this moment, there is nothing more fulfilling to me than sweetly holding hands with my beloved in the darkened bus as we deepen the infinite together; knowing that my daughter is safe and my siblings are happy. I am delighted to not just survive but to be exquisitely human - ALIVE - tasting, smelling, touching, seeing, hearing....sensually, fluidly.
We came home to find that the kittens had made the paper towel rack their newest toy- unrolling sheets and sheets of paper towels on the counter top. What fun!
Trusting love is the reason I am.

My daughter was HIT AND RUN 1/25/07, Thursday 1:40 pm by a gentleman who ran the red light on Los Angeles Ave and Surveyor (just west of Tapo Cyn) in Simi Valley. Am trying to take a very Amish attitude about the guy running the red light, hitting my daughter on her driver's side and then driving away without seeing if she was hurt.
I am working with all the emotion I got going about the situation and I'm not channelling it into anger and fear. Especially challenging after talking with the paramedics, when I drove up to the accident scene and saw my daughter's truck driver's side door totally smashed in, realizing that very thin amount of metal was between my baby and a huge object hurtling at her at over 40 miles per hour.
So. knowing that she is recovering easily and gracefully, my heart goes out to the gentleman who fled the scene. There are no accidents.
Love is the only answer. no matter what.

I'm a winter baby- born when it's the coldest in Southern California. I love the winters here- we get to have 50 degree weather, sometimes even 40 degree weather (!) then just when we get used to dressing for it, it turns a balmy 76 degrees and all sunny. I love the impermance of it all.
But what I love the most is I get to sleep the way I like best. I turn on my heated mattress pad about 1/2 hour before I want to read in bed before I meditate before I go to sleep. So when I get in, it's so cozy, I am literally involuntariliy moaning from the cocoon warmth. then after reading and meditating, I turn on my side, with body pillow under one knee and pull the covers over my head with just a slit of open space around my face so I have easy breathing. My covers are down feathers so the warmth seems gossamer and spacious. AAAAAAAHHH YEEEEESSSSSS!!!
The best winter sleep is when I share all of the above with my beloved, the man who rocks my world. There is an art to sleeping with the beloved- to allow the authentic unique consciousness of the other to envelop one another, trusting what goes on in dreamland.
I surrender to love forever and forever and forever - no matter what.

I've been working on my co-dependency issues for a very very very long time- read all the books, gone to meetings. The challenge for me is to bring balance to being of service and NOT trying to fix what's outside of me.
I hit my co-dependency "bottom" a few weeks ago. It was like the light bulb went on after willingly smashing my head against the wall for all these years. I finally realized that no matter how much love I pour into a person, the only thing that I can change is me. No matter how much I love a person, I cannot love another out of their suffering addictions into being the best they can be. Even while I see the greatness of the beloved (namaste) and reflect their greatness back to them, I cannot make another grow into their greatness.
I am co-dependant no more! alleluia! hosannah! yippee!
It is so exhilarating to be able to balance loving another and relaxing into just allowing the best that I can be come into form- not worrying about fixing or controlling another because I so desparately wanted them to play with me in the highest fields.
I know that open hearted love is the only answer. no matter what.

I love when the sun comes into my bedroom late at night via the reflection of the full moon.
I love how late at night I can have the warmth of the sun via the burning of the wood that has been storing up sunshine for years through photosynthesis.
I really love understanding the science of these events at a quantum physics level so much so that I perceive it as art beyond measure, more beautiful than anything at the Getty or the Louvre.
AND I really really love the radiant cleaning lady who twice a month creates the art of divine right alignment in my living space!

I call my aunt every Saturday. She's in her eighties and lives in the heartland of America in Peoria, Illinois. I told her I had a commitment to work on myself, reduce all stress, live in grace, get my ministerial degree and all.
Aunt Jeanne complimented me on wanting to become an interesting person --- she stopped herself and said- "but you're already an interesting person. OK, then, now you'll be an even more interesting person."
amen to that!!! hee hee hee

I think the life cycle is all backwards.
You should die first, start out dead and get it out of the way.
Then you wake up in a nursing home, feeling better every day.
You get kicked out for being too healthy,
go collect your pension, then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day.
You work 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement.
You party, you're carefree. And you get ready for High School.
You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities,
you become a baby, then, you spend your last 9 months floating peacefully with luxuries like central heating, spa room service on tap, larger quarters everyday,
and finally you finish off as an orgasm.
